Vallby Open-Air Museum offers a meaningful summer job at one of Västmanland's largest tourist attractions. As a museum host, you will work closely with both visitors and colleagues in a vibrant museum environment with public activities and guidance of young people. Here you will be able to use your pedagogical and communicative skills in a context that engages many.

Your tasks

Your main task is to work together with the youth to provide our visitors with a positive museum experience. You will actively participate in the activities, guide the youth in their daily work, and hold daily check-ins. Together with the museum's staff and the youth, you will plan and carry out various public activities. Guided tours for the public may also occur.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone with experience in public work at museums or tourist attractions and experience in mentoring/work leadership. A degree or ongoing studies in museum subjects is an advantage, and if you also have experience in theater and role-playing, that is a plus. In this role, it is important that you can work independently and have a good sense of service. You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, and additional language skills are an advantage. A completed high school education is a requirement for employment.

Before you can be employed, you need to present an approved extract from the police's criminal record.

The recruitment concerns a fixed-term employment expected to last for 9 weeks, from 2026-06-08 to 2026-08-09.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or a certificate of citizenship along with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance. All offers of recruitment and advertising assistance are declined.
